Kuti Ranch

The ostriches were in a large enclosure by themselves because they can be pretty mean. Everything else is just loose within the 3000 hectare ranch fence.
We have been looking for someplace close enough to take the elders or the youth for an activity and found this on the map. It's about an hour and twenty minutes drive from us so we decided to check it out. It is a beautiful place. We weren't able to find very many of the animals though because of all the grass. We are just at the end of the rainy season and it is 8-10 feet tall in most places. We could sure tell they were around (lots of tracks and trails) but we mainly saw zebra and a few quick glimpses of impala. We looked and looked for the giraffes but no luck. We will definitely go back in July or August when the grass is down.

A cool tree.

This group of zebra hang around the reception area so they aren't very shy.

An essential part of any road trip.

I don't think I have ever noticed the gray stripes in the white stripes on the hind quarters before.

  1. Wow, the stripes look kind of brown. I've never seen that before. Have you guys seen any porcupines yet?
